Born in Geneva Dr Benoit Jenny obtained his medical degree from the University in Geneva (Switzerland) in 1997. He also obtained a PhD title from the Faculty of Sciences in Geneva. Dr Benoit Jenny has trained in Geneva and Melbourne (Australia).

At the University Hospital Geneva, Dr Benoit Jenny started his neurosurgical training in 1998 under Pofesseor Nicolas de Tribolet until 2007 and finished his FMH neurosurgical diploma under Professor Karl Schaller in 2008.

Dr Benoit Jenny trained also with Dr Benedict Rilliet, former head of pediatric neurosurgery in Geneva-Lausanne.

In 2000 in Melbourne, Dr Benoit Jenny was a "neurosurgical registrar" at the Royal Melbourne Hospital under the direction of Prof Andrew H. Kaye, training in adult neurosurgery. In 2010 he was a "neurosurgical fellow" at the Royal Children's Hospital under the direction of Ms Wirginia Maixner, to train in pediatric neurosurgery. Dr Benoit Jenny was responsible for pediatric neurosurgery at University Hospital Geneva since the retirement of Dr Benedict Rilliet in 2011 until February 2014.

 

During the last 16 years of neurosurgical practice, Dr Benoit Jenny developed surgical skills in many diffferents fields in adult and pedaitric neurosurgery. In adult neurosurgery he specialised in spine and complex spine surgery, gained expertise in brain tumour removal, hydrocephalus, vascular neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery. In pediatric neurosurgery Dr Benoit Jenny has developped a particular interest for pediatric brain tumours, endoscopic surgery for the treatment of hydrocephalus, craniofacial surgery and epilepsy surgery.
